Overview

BQG Mining Pneumatic Diaphragm Pump

BQG pumps use compressed air to drive diaphragm chambers through alternating suction and discharge strokes.

The main unit can work on the bank while its suction pipe is placed in the medium. The BQG-Z arrangement adds float-controlled pneumatic automatic start-stop.

Applications

  • Mine drainage and liquid transfer points where the main unit can remain on the bank and a suction pipe can be placed in the medium.
  • Intermittent sump drainage after the exact model, medium and compressed-air supply have been reviewed.

Working principle

Compressed air drives the diaphragm chambers so that suction and discharge alternate between the chambers.

Four check valves control liquid direction while the pilot air valve switches the pneumatic drive between strokes.

Features

  • Pneumatic diaphragm drive powered by compressed air.
  • Bank-side main-unit arrangement with the suction pipe placed in the medium.
  • BQG-Z configuration with float and pneumatic automatic start-stop.

Verified conditions

Medium temperature
≤ 40 °C
pH range
pH 6–8

Selection inputs

  • Required transfer rate, discharge requirement and suction arrangement.
  • Available compressed-air supply and the proposed air-line configuration.
  • Medium temperature, pH and any solids or particles requiring exact-model review.
  • Manual operation or a BQG-Z float-controlled automatic start-stop requirement.

Verification before selection

No family-wide solids concentration or particle limit is stated here. Verify the medium, exact model and current manual before selection.

Frequently asked questions

How does a BQG pump move liquid?

Compressed air alternates the diaphragm chamber strokes; four check valves direct suction and discharge while a pilot air valve controls switching.

Can the main pump stay outside the liquid?

The current manual describes a bank-side main unit with its suction pipe placed in the medium. Confirm suction conditions for the selected arrangement.

What is different about BQG-Z?

BQG-Z adds float-controlled pneumatic automatic start-stop. The exact configuration still needs to be confirmed during selection.

Compressed-air supply and start-stop requirements

For a BQG pneumatic diaphragm pump, provide the air pressure available at the pump while running and the available air flow, together with hose diameter, hose length and other equipment sharing the air supply. The compressor nameplate pressure alone is not sufficient for selection.

Specify required liquid flow, discharge head, suction lift or flooded suction, medium and solids. Confirm manual operation or BQG-Z float-controlled start-stop, and the air isolation arrangement. Air consumption, permitted inlet pressure and installation limits must come from the selected model's current manual or curve; no universal value is assumed here.

BQG enquiry checklist: liquid duty and air supply

What should I send if I only know the compressor pressure?

Send the compressor data sheet and available air-flow units, the number of pumps running together, air-hose internal diameter and length, and pressure at the pump while running if available. Mark unknown values as unknown. Static pressure is not a guarantee of air supply under load; liquid delivery and air consumption must be checked together against the selected model's curve.

Can one general slurry description determine the diaphragm and valves?

No. Provide liquid composition, temperature, pH, largest particle size, solids concentration and, if known, density and viscosity. State suction lift or flooded suction, discharge head and required liquid flow. Diaphragm, valve and wetted-body materials must be confirmed for the exact model; no universal solids limit, air pressure or dry-running duration is promised.

For a purchase enquiry, also include quantity, project location and required procurement date. State any mandatory certificate and the exact installation environment. Request the proposed model curve, dimensions and material configuration before confirming an order.
